"Tucked into a corner of the upper Midwest formed by two of the Great Lakes and bordered on the west by North America's largest river, Wisconsin is framed by water and rich in waterways. In its interior lie 15,000 lakes, most of them formed by the glacier around 10,000 years ago. The state is laced with more than 12,600 rivers and streams, including 2,700 trout streams and three designated as National Wild and Scenic Rivers.
